What is Desktop Alert?

Desktop Alerts are sent over the network using standard SOAP/XML packets over port 80.

Alerts are created using the web-based Desktop Alert administration interface. The interface employs an embedded html editor which enables the publisher of the alert to create alerts, and to preview and publish using rich text media if desired. External applications easily share data and commands with the Desktop Alert Platform Architecture, via an easy to a use web-services Application Programming Interface.

Templates may be created using the Desktop Alert administration interface. Alert format and content can be created and saved as a template for rapid future usage. Templates can be quickly employed for publication automatically based on predefined scenarios or manually by any authorized alert publisher resulting in rapid alert publication.

Desktop Alerts web-based management system provides 3 levels of access to the alert interface that include administrator, moderator and end-user. These accounts are created automatically based on the existing Organizational Unit structure of the Active Directory.

The Desktop Alert client application is easily deployed using standard software advertisements for silent installations to all computers. All client software has built-in Windows client authentication. The Desktop Alert client continually polls the network database for alerts on a interval as low as every 30 seconds. Administrators can push the Desktop Alert client installation to a computers or an un-installation to any computers. However, unless requested, end-users cannot uninstall the alert software.

Desktop Alert provides all of the alert application source code to each base. Desktop Alert Emergency Mass Notification System has now been added to US Air Force Approved Software List. (EWORLDWIRE)
